Our purpose is to not only feed those in need but to give an opportunity to serve for those who are called to walk a Christian life.
It presently comprises:
- Bumper Bag: a food drive that occurs the last Sunday of every month. Those who wish to donate, please leave bags of groceries behind the bumpers of parked cars in the church parking lot during church services to be picked up by volunteers.
-Stephen’s Pantry: a food distribution event held at the patio behind The House the last Sunday of every month from Noon to 3 PM.
Other areas in development and needing volunteers are:
-The Kitchen: an area of Outreach where meals on the church campus are prepared for families in need and served to them in the enriching and supportive fellowship of breaking bread. This is an arm of our ministry that is being developed presently. We are hoping to have meals prepared for families partaking in the Stephen’s Pantry distribution events the last Sunday of every month. We will also provide interesting international cuisines at Outreach’s Global Café. Our “signature menu” is flame broiled tri-tip and twice baked potatoes! All food prepared is also available for purchase.
-Home Cookin’: prepared meals delivered to the home for families whose life circumstances make cooking at home difficult, either because of sickness, childbirth, bereavement or a short term need for respite. This arm of the ministry needs someone to help coordinate the scheduling of meals. We already have a willing small corps of cooks looking forward to serving. All we lack right now is a hands on coordinator!
